Yamaha Releases New Console Firmware To Support Next Generation I/O racks

February 12, 2025, Shizuoka, Japan – Yamaha has released new firmware for the RIVAGE PM series and DM7 series, which support the new Rio3224-D3 and Rio1608-D3 I/O racks.
The third-generation Rio3224-D3 and Rio1608-D3 deliver advances in sound quality, functionality, and energy economy, while maintaining the high performance that Yamaha’s R series is well known for. The company has now released RIVAGE PM firmware Version 6.7 and DM7 firmware V1.7 which fully support the new I/O racks. Firmware V3.0 for the DM3 series has also been released, which additionally controls head amp parameters.
Delivering lower noise levels and a wider dynamic range, the Rio3224-D3 and Rio1608-D3 also feature a new headphone socket. This can be used for checking the input and output sound, as well as the audio assigned to the last two Dante receive channels, useful for when building complex networks.
An additional (third) network port on the rear panel enables control and monitoring to be handled separately from Dante, a particular benefit for fixed installations. Each output port is also now equipped with delay, phase, and level adjustment functions, which is especially beneficial for RIVAGE PM series users.
In addition to supporting the Rio-D3, V6.7 of the RIVAGE PM series adds Digital Audio Labs Livemix PRO Personal Monitor System devices to the Dante Supported Device list. Meanwhile, DM7 V1.7 supports the Waves WSG-PY64 audio interface card and adds Shure SLX-D Quad models to the Dante Supported Device list.
All of these new features can be utilized with the latest console firmware, which is available as a free download.
